Pay attention to the soaps you wash your body with. Use soaps that contain added fat such as Dove or Neutrogena. Don't use deodorant soaps because they can dry out your skin. Soaps containing added fat create a moisturizing film over the skin which can keep it soft and smooth.

Moisturize your skin with natural oils. Put a little olive oil on your face, elbows, knees and arms at night. The monounsaturated fat in the olive oil refreshes and hydrates the skin without making it greasy. You can keep your hands and feet soft and young looking by putting on gloves and socks before you go to bed. This will lock in the moisture from the oil. You can also use corn, safflower and sunflower oils. These oils will also soften and hydrate the skin and sooth irritations.
