How to Make Organic Soap Bars

How to Make Organic Soap Barsthumbnail
Make your own organic soap at home instead of purchasing commercial soaps.
Organic soap recipes vary according to personal preference and tastes, but all the recipes consist of a soap base combined with organic and all-natural ingredients. Ingredients like oatmeal soothe and exfoliate rough skin, while goat milk adds a natural cleanser and treats acne. Making your own organic soap bars can turn into a fun hobby or even a business if you master the basics of soap making.

Instructions

things you'll need:

  • 1 cup melt-and-pour soap base
  • Mixing bowl
  • 1/2 cup organic oatmeal
  • Coffee grinder
  • 1 oz. fragrance oil
  • 8 oz. goat milk
  • 5 oz. coconut oil
  • Soap molds
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Spray bottle
    • 1
Cut the melt-and-pour soap into 1/2-inch cubes. Place the cubes in a microwave-safe bowl.
    • 2
Microwave the soap base for 1 minute. Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir until no chunks of the soap base exist.
    • 3
Place the oatmeal in a coffee grinder and grind it into a fine texture.
    • 4
Mix 1 oz. of fragrance oil with the oatmeal. Add the oatmeal to the melted soap.
    • 5
Add 8 oz. of goat milk and 5 oz. of coconut oil. Stir until all the ingredients blend well.
    • 6
Pour the soap into soap molds.
    • 7
Pour rubbing alcohol into a spray bottle. Spray the top of the soap with the alcohol to keep air bubbles from forming on the soap.
    • 8
Allow the soap to harden completely. Remove the soap from the molds, and allow it to cure for two weeks before using.
