Home Care Tips for Skin

  1. Cleanse and Moisturize with Pumpkin

    • Cosmopolitan recommends using pumpkin to nourish your face. It's rich in vitamin C and anti-oxidants to help your skin fight aging elements and stay healthy-looking. You can make a cleanser and a facial mask out of pumpkin and include it in your regular skin regimen, depending on your skin type.
To make the cleanser, mix 2 tbsp. of mashed pumpkin with 1/4 cup of milk and 1/4 cup of water. Use a small amount and apply to the face using a sponge or a wet washcloth. Use warm water when rinsing. Apply the cleanser every morning and night.
If you have dry skin, a pumpkin facial mask will help moisturize your face. Create the mask by mixing 2 tbsp. of boiled and mashed pumpkin with 1 tbsp. of olive oil. Apply the mask to your face and neck and allow it to sit for 20 minutes. Then, use warm water for rinsing and finish off the routine by applying moisturizer.

    Tighten and Smooth with Egg

    • Eggs contain amino acids and protein, nutrients which enrich the body. According to Skin Care Recipes and Remedies, when applied to the skin, eggs make a tighter and smoother face. To prepare the egg mask, mix two egg yolks with 1 tsp. of sugar. Whisk the egg yolks thoroughly before adding the sugar gradually. Apply the mixture on your face and let it sit for 25 minutes before rinsing it using warm water.

Exfoliate and Remove Blemishes with Lemon

    • According to the RN Guide to Skin Care, lemon juice is an effective antioxidant, helping skin stay fresh-looking and free of dead skin cells. Per Elle.com, adding a little lemon juice to your facial scrub can help exfoliate winter skin, as well as purify the skin and fade dark spots.
To help dry up a blemish, slice a lemon and dab the other half on your blemishes. Leave it on for 20 minutes and rinse off with warm water. You can also squeeze the lemon and use the juice to treat blackheads, or apply the juice on problem areas before sleeping, and leave it on until morning.
