Do The Perfect Smoky Eye Makeup!

In my opinion, there is nothing sexier than a woman with smoky bedroom eyes and nude colored lips. The 'look' may seem intricate and complex but it is very simple and can be done in ten minutes or less!

Instructions

things you'll need:

  • a smooth black eyeliner
  • black mascara
  • a light champagne eyeshadow
  • a dark gray or black eyeshadow
  • a small liner brush
  • a medium size eyeshadow brush
  • nude lipstick

It's best to start this look with a little bit of concealer on your lids and under eye area. The concealer helps keep the eyeshadow from moving into your crease and also evens out any discoloration around your eye area. Let the concealer dry for a minute or two.

      A dramatic winged looked.
Start by lining your upper lid with black eyeliner. I personally prefer a thinner liner on top because it makes my eyes look bigger. You want an even straight line and if you choose you can wing the liner out a bit past your eyes for a more dramatic look.

Line your lower lashes by gently lowering your under eye area down. This will give you access to the very top of your lower lid. Brush the eyeliner along your lower lashes and gently smudge with a cotton swab or your finger.

After the eyeliner is applied to your liking, sweep a light champagne eyeshadow all over your lid and right below your browbone. This eyeshadow will work both as a base and a highlighter. To make your eyes really pop-add a bit of eyeshadow on the very inner eye area.

Now grab your dark gray or black eyeshadow and your medium sized eyeshadow brush. Sweep the brush over the shadow and gently blow to remove any loose excess shadow. I start my smoky eye at the outside corner of my lid and bring it inwards. The key is to apply the shadow in layer so it doesn't become too dark. I start with a thicker line of shadow on the outside and get it gradually thinner once I move from the center of my lid.

Take your thin shadow brush and gently sweep some shadow along your lower lash line. If you want a messier look, gently smudge the shadow on both your upper and lower lid with your finger or a cotton swab. Once the shadow is to your desired darkness, sweep on a few coats of mascara some nude colored lipstick and you are ready to go!
