Easter is such a fun time. Decorating and eating is part of the celebration. This article will show you how to decorate a cupcake into a cute Easter basket. Keep reading!

Instructions

things you'll need:

  • unfrosted cupcakes
  • pipe cleaners or licorice
  • white frosting
  • green food coloring
  • shredded coconut
  • green sanding sugar (optional)
  • whoppers robin eggs (or similar candy such as M& M's or jellybeans)
    • 1
      unfrosted cupcakes
OBTAIN IT BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY:
First you need some unfrosted, undecorated cupcakes. If you can make them go ahead. Make them any flavor you'd like. If you don't know how to make cupcakes, you can buy them at the store or have one of your good friends make some for you.
    • 2
      white frosting
      I SEE GREEN:
Now you're going to add some green food coloring to the white frosting. This will be the green base and it will add to the green grass. It will look greener.
You can also keep the frosting white if you'd like, or you can use chocolate frosting to look like dirt.
    • 3
      shredded coconut
      MY GRASS TASTES LIKE COCONUT:
In a separate container add green food coloring to the white shredded coconut. Stir it well so that the color is evenly distributed. The amount you add to the shredded coconut and the frosting depends on how dark you want the "grass."
Optional: If you don't like coconut, you can use green sanding sugar.
    • 4
      whoppers robin eggs
      IT'S ALL COMING TOGETHER:
Everything is now ready to be assembled. To make the Easter basket cupcakes you'll need to frost each cupcake. Once that is done you'll add some shredded coconut on top of the frosting. Add a good amount to make it look like a little nest, but not too much that it's falling off. Add the whoppers robin eggs on top of the grass. Usually three of those is enough. You can also try similar looking candy like M& M's or jellybeans.
    • 5
      licorice sticks
      I CAN HANDLE IT:
Use half a pipe cleaner for each cupcake. Arch the pipe cleaner. Insert the ends of the pipe cleaner into opposite ends of the surface of the cup... just like a handle on an Easter basket.
Optional: Glue a tiny bow to the top of the pipe cleaner arch before you stick it in the cupcake.
Optional: If you don't want to use pipe cleaners, you can also use licorice sticks. Cut the licorice at your desired handle length.
