DIY : Makeup Palette

DIY: Makeup Palettethumbnail
Put all of your favorite cosmetics together into one portable palette.
If you have several different separate eye shadow colors and lip colors that you like to wear together on a regular basis, make your morning routine quicker by putting them together into a DIY makeup palette. This also makes your makeup more portable and compact, so you can put it in your purse to easily touch up your makeup. Even if your eye shadows are loose or your lip color is in lipstick form, you can put them into a compact if you follow a few simple steps.

Difficulty:

Moderately Easy

Clean out an old makeup compact with 91 percent rubbing alcohol to get rid of any old makeup and to sanitize it. How many individual pans or "pots" you will need in the compact depends on how many eye shadows, blushes or lip colors you want to include in your DIY makeup palette. You can also buy an empty compact for this purpose.

Put on a pair of rubber gloves and break your eye shadows up into pieces with a small spatula. Spray the pan you want to put your eye shadow in with 91 percent rubbing alcohol so the powder will stick better. Press the pieces together in the pan, spray once again with alcohol and press it together again while it is a little wet. Keep misting with alcohol and pressing together until your eye shadow forms a solid "cake." Use this process with powdered blush, bronzer or powder concealer if you are adding them to your palette.

Add your lipsticks or lip balms to the trays. Crush your lip colors directly into the tray with the help of a lip brush or small spatula, or melt and pour them in. Break your lipstick into a heat-resistant measuring cup and put it in a standard microwave for 30 seconds at a time. Check it after 30 seconds until it is completely liquefied. Pour the melted lipstick into the tray.

Wipe away any loose powder or smeared lipstick on the compact between the pans with a damp tissue to make your compact nice and neat. Now you can take all of your favorite colors with you wherever you go.
